WIA Dashboard Site Launched Bringing Instant Access to National WIA Analytics.
11/28/2011 - FutureWorks has released a complimentary WIA dashboard website featuring 3 interactive dashboards that contain national WIA data. The dashboards, located at www.wiadashboard.org allow users to see performance, flow (participants within the WIA system, those currently in the program and those exited) and an easy to understand "results" dashboard. The FutureWorks team focused the dashboards for any technical level site visitor, with a special attention on presenting WIA performance measures definitions in easy-to-understand terminology.
"Dashboards are an excellent way to get a 50,000 foot view of WIA performance," says Tom Ryan, CIO and Partner at FutureWorks. "It's a simple way of answering some basic questions for Workforce Boards and States, such as how am i doing and how do I compare to others?" According to Mr. Ryan, dashboards are designed to be accessible to anyone and can provide a fairly deep understanding of WIA programs at a national level without becoming overwhelming. "The WIA system needs a way to easily see and monitor its performance and share results...dashboards can play a role in accomplishing that goal. We hope that by offering these, we help WIA policymakers and administrators get information they need to understand the WIA system, and, to be honest, introduce them to a technology that is easily available to them."
WIA dashbaords are updated each quarter when USDOL releases its WIA public use data file. The FutureWorks team reports that within 24 hours of receipt of new data, it is processed and surfaced on the WIA dashboard site. The site is located at www.wiadashboard.org. If you are interested in being notified via email when the site is updated with new data, visitors are encouraged to submit a registration form on the site.
