Features you want in your workforce development performance management system
print
Performance Matters Plus has been designed to include features that promote ease of use. Ease of use translates into an ease of understanding performance data. Performance Matters Plus is
delivered over the Internet, much like any other
Web site. However, this Web site is a dynamic and secure
Web application, giving users the ability
to manipulate and control how they are viewing their most recent workforce development performance data.
Track,
analyze, report, forecast and export
your performance data. Benchmark against others,
and utilize the application's colorful charts and
graphs to take different approaches to analysis. Using
an intuitive interface to facilitate easy navigation
and smart application
controls for slicing and dicing the data, you'll find
it easy to quickly get the information you need as
one performance question leads to another.
The application has been designed for
all technical skill levels and can be customized for your organization's performance management needs.
 Customization of Performance Matters Plus
Performance Matters Plus has been designed to easily adapt to the additional performance
measurement needs of workforce professionals, beyond those
required by WIA, Wagner-Peyser and Trade Act, to provide one application for performance
management. The application can include Local WIA area or state specific
performance measures.
In addition, the application supports universal access
clients and activities, participant and employer
satisfaction,
and can be adapted to conform to performance programs such as, balanced
scorecards and other WIB specified performance plans.
Currently, FutureWork Systems' Performance Matters Plus includes OMB's Common Measures; definitions are available from the US Department of Labor.

 Quality Assurances and Validation
Validation and quality control
are essential to a performance management system. Users must have
full confidence in the data to insure utilization and sound policy
decisions. Unlike a completely customized solution, Performance
Matters Plus is an application that undergoes a rigid test,
beta test and implementation process with each release. The computations
are validated as part of the release cycle. Data is controlled
and validated with the following checks and balances to insure
accurate results.
When data is transferred to the FutureWorks
FTP site, it is put through a process, which validates each field,
and produces an error report. The same process isolates error
records in a separate table. Customers receive the error report
and table, which they correct and return for inclusion in the database.
Experience has shown that after the first few cycles of data load,
clients provide reliable information resulting in clean data
loads.
Control information is also captured a part of each load process.
Computed outcomes are benchmarked against previous loads and
the delta data set. Simple record count controls, number of individuals
processed and hash values are also matched against customer specified
control points. This process is discussed and agreed upon during
the implementation process. |
